Fire From The Gods: The Sleeping Giant of 2019

It’s been a couple of years since the Texas-based hardcore/hip-hop outfit Fire From The Gods (FFTG) has hit the scene with some new tracks. Lying dormant, all signs are pointing to the group making 2019 another year to remember in their ever-so rapidly growing storybook. Narrative took 2016 by storm, in a year where music was not at a standstill. The quintet from Austin, TX brought something new with Narrative that hadn’t been heard before: a brutal collision between hardcore and hip-hop led by vocalist AJ Channer. Featuring the tracks “End Transmission” and “Excuse Me”, FFTG hits home with their message for social justice reform and an end to the age of police brutality. FFTG released Narrative Retold in 2017, adding a few bonus tracks including “The Voiceless”, one of their most successful songs to date with millions of views on YouTube. Narrative is one of my top ten albums of all time for its lyrical content and Channer’s delivery. If you’ve never given it a shot, click here to stream the album in its entirety via Spotify or purchase the album here via Amazon.

Channer and the band have been very active on social media as of late, giving fans high hopes for new music this year. The band has already announced they will be taking part in the Louder Than Life Fest in September alongside metal legends Disturbed, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, and more. The band’s Instagram reveals that drums have been completed for their new music, as well as the revival of the #UNITEORDIE hashtag by both the band and its many followers. Regardless, expect this year to be the year that Fire From The Gods breaks loose once again. We’ll keep you up to date on their recording progress and drop our full review as their new tracks become public. Until then, enjoy this music video of “The Voiceless” via YouTube below!
