The Bad Wolves are howling with their first album, Disobey

They’ve all been in the music scene for a while but, vocalist Tommy Vext (Divine Heresy), guitarists Doc Coyle (God Forbid) and Chris Cain (Bury Your Dead), bassist Kyle Konkiel (VIMIC), and drummer John Boecklin (Devildriver) are together for the first time in the metal band Bad Wolves. They released their first album, Disobey, earlier this year on May 11, 2018.

Bad Wolves gave the first taste of Disobey with the release of their cover of The Cranberries song “Zombie”. They gave the song a refreshing makeover and gained a lot of attention with over 33 million views in about 3 weeks after its release. That created more anticipation of their album.

The band showcases their talent throughout the album and Tommy Vext displays his impressive range through his ballad like clean vocals and aggressive growls and screams. The catch clean choruses make many of the songs on the album very radio friendly. A great example of this is “Remember When” with its catchy chorus full of powerful emotion.

The album also features some lyrics related to today’s political landscape. The first song on the album, “Officer Down”, has a powerful message telling two sides of the police violence and race relations in America.

In “Remember When”, Tommy tells the story about him and his twin brother and how Tommy actually died for a few seconds when he was ‘killed’ by his twin.

Between the ballads and the heavy breakdowns, this album will keep you listening to the end. Don’t take my word for it though. Check out the album here.
